Lymestone Brewery

Lymestone Brewery is committed to continuing the art of local beer making. The brewery is well-connected to local tourist attractions and accommodation and employs local people from Stone. The monthly brewery tours showcase the business's own beers, plus local food such as Staffordshire Lobby and local artisan bread. Lymestone beers are a welcome sight on the shelves of independent pubs across the county.

The Lymestone Vaults

The Lymestone Vaults is the first of the Lymestone Brewery Taps and continues all the brewery's traditions of local-sourcing and sustainable practices. Local food is on offer and customers can relax by a log fire in upcycled chairs. Local art hangs on the walls.

The Bore Hole

The Borehole pub is operated by the Lymestone brewery, already an SEQM award holder. This new venture is run with the same principles as the brewery: selling Staffordshire-made products, sourcing locally, community involvement, energy usage reduction and employing local people. The building, a former office on the industrial estate near the brewery, has been carefully refurbished and is highly popular with its customers.

Heywood Hall

Dudson Museum
Award date: 16th August 2018
The museum is housed within an historic bottle oven on the former Dudson factory site in Hanley. It contains several small but varied collections of Dudson pottery from the past two centuries and a small gift shop area of ceramic-related gifts. The museum is an important point on the city’s Ceramics Trail. It has made impressive progress in its efforts to reduce energy consumption and has implemented light-saving technologies in the bottle oven and in its display cases.
