Woodturning at Christmas Cottage

Matthew is a woodturner using mainly local woods from sustainable Peak District sources to make bowls, plates, objets d’art and other useful smaller items. His aim is to emphasise each individual piece of wood’s character through its grain, bark, sapwood and heartwood. His work can be viewed at his workshop in Youlgrave, adjacent to April Cottage providing self-catering accommodation. Commissions undertaken.
